The Dorcas House is a benevolent program of the Hampton Church of Christ. This program was started by the Nash church of Christ in approximately 1987. It started in a small room behind the baptistery with only clothing. It became too much for that small area and a building was built behind the church building in 1997 to handle the increase in clothing and a small amount of food.

The program continued to grow and an addition had to be made to the original building. One side of the building handles clothing and the other side food. The Dorcas House is open every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 1:45  p.m., and is operated by volunteers from the congregation. On Tuesdays work is done to sort, wash (if needed) and hang clothing that has been donated.

On Thursdays there is usually more clothing to sort, wash and hang as well as give out clothing. On the food side, shelves are stocked and boxes filled to complete the food requests. Food is purchased from East Texas Food Bank, Harvest of Texarkana and Bill & Ralph's. Those in need can come once a month to get food and/or clothing.
